Why STUN keep alive is needed?

IFAICT there is already something in 2.0 branch about that. (when I made 
tests about video I noticed that RTP transport was started only when 
necessary but didn't dive more into this point).
And this will be very cool when there for Mobile SIP clients cause 
keeping STUN alive drain battery.
