How to build for an older iPhone SDK

Hello

Currently i have got PJSIP working on my iPhone app. I build using XCode
3.2.6 and SDK 4.3. Everything works fine on a device that runs iOS 4.3.3.
However my app does not install on a device that runs on 4.2.1.
I think the issue is with the build configs of PJSIP which uses the latest
iPhone SDK.
I have two questions:

1- Is it possible to build the app on an older SDK in order to support
iPhones that run on a version earlier than my XCode SDK, say 4.0?

2- If not does that mean the i will never be able to support iPhones
earlier than the SDK i have installed?

Cheers
Fadi
