Of course. No problemo ;-)
I want to make SQL request on PDFs files like (syntax is fantaisist) :
Conn = OpenDatabase("PDF Driver","/var/www/repDBF");
SQLStmt = "Select * From DBFFile1 where Name = 'DUBOIS'";
RS = Conn.Execute(SQLStmt);

These is what I do in ASP on Windows...
