I've read a bit more about this and just want to make sure that I'm correct in my thinking. Since the value of the field is latin1_swedish_ci it's expecting something in the swedish language. My DB will be storying information in a strings of mostly english, but I don't see why it shouldn't work with other languages I should set it to utf8_bin. Right?
