The latest version of ADODb supports odbtp. You can get it at http://odbtp.sourceforge.net. There are 2 versions of the ADODb driver: odbtp and odbtp_unicode. The problem you are having is caused by the inability of the ODBC driver to provide what the desired information. The FreeTDS ODBC driver still needs some more work.
