      phpinfo() says:

      MySQL Support         enabled

      MYSQL_SOCKET     /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock

but in fact the file /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock doesn't exists.

So I understand that the first step is to check the configuration of MySQL,
is it?
