Re: Cron job without linux crontab command

One suggestion.. write a script that does the following:


   - Someone enters the site
   - A function at the top of the page checks to see if your update has ran
   in the last hour, day, week.. whatever.
   - If it hasn't, it runs it and logs the date and time either in a text
   file or in the database.

While this will not guarantee it to run on a regular basis as it is
dependent on someone actually visiting the site, if your site does get
visited often, it will take care of the matter in most instances.
