Thank you. That problem solved but
$imap->selectMailbox("INBOX") is NULL
whereas I sent some mail.
So I cannot fetch messages.

Do you realy try to access a local folder?
This does not work because you have to give php-imap an IMAP server to
eat, before it allow you to do anything including authentication.
