mysql hides a query untill another row is inserted manually

Hi friends,
I have a PHP code , now when i insert the row via my code then the row appears as not inserted, but then i execute the command in mysql prompt, it inserts and then it shows the previous row inserted via my code,

Mysql client version is 5.x
mysql server version is 4.0.21


I know this doesnt directly matches the line of the group , but any help will be appreciated.
