Some discussion and consolidation would be helpful. There are the
following related projects:
https://dev.horde.org/imap_client/install.php
https://github.com/barbushin/php-imap
https://github.com/Webklex/php-imap
There is a discussion in Fedora about dropping php-imap packaging. Is it
worth trying to update and maintain the c client library or move to
something that is currently being maintained?

Are there maintained forks? While I have users that use the extension,
and I have the patches from distros to keep c-client on life support,
I'd rather have a supported base.
Perhaps it'd be in the interest of the PHP community to create such a
thing if it doesn't exist?

Hi,
PHP IMAP uses a rather old library and unmaintained C library:

Are ther plans to use an alternative implementation?
