I guess I'm going to avoid aliases as much as possible. 

But still... I'm quite confused that the type is called "boolean" in the
documentation but "bool" needs to be used in code (as boolean is an alias to
bool for the type boolean *headache*).

Anyway, I think this sort of information (no alias support for type hinting)
should be in the documentation (at least as a side note). I'm going to open a
ticket for that :)
