Because then you have to constantly maintain this both as a developer and
also Lin Yo-An has to as well to ensure it stays compatible with future PHP
versions. Then if you are using it you also have to get it on all of your
dev team's VMs, your QA, Staging, PROD and how many other's too. It's just
better to have it as part of the PHP code-base.
