The only thing that books differ from a general webshop / e-commerce is ISBN and authors. In any case, a good e-commerce solution should have UPC/ISBN since every product is identified by UPC/ISBN regardless of the industry. So what I suggest is look for a good open source e-commerce solution that has most of the features you're looking for and just implement additional fields in the db for ISBN, authors, publishers (manufacturers?) and some additional php code.
