I just bookmark the following in my browser:

javascript:void(document.location='http://validator.w3.org/check?uri='+document.location)

Then when I want to validate anything, I just use that bookmark.

PS: While I would not have said it like you did, but I agree with your opinion as to the web site. It is confusing as to what's what? Too much advertising, IMO.
