is this something to do with document encoding?
I am using these as headers for the script
header("content-type:text/xml;charset=utf-8");
header("Content-Disposition:attachment;filename=google_feed.xml");

looks like you have and & in the file right before "iuml" which is
making the browser think it is an entity - ie invalid xml - ie make sure
all &'s are actually & - should fix you up
