Splitting hairs. December 31, 2008 had two 23:59:59 -- it was a leap second for that year.

My grand-kids, being the nerds that they are counted the New Year down like so:

10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 1, Happy New Year!
