I've honestly never read any of the PHP books out there, so I wouldn't be able to give you a definite recommendation on that. What I *will* highly recommend, though, is subscribing to the PHP General mailing list. You'll not only get a lot of good information and insight from that list, but it's a decent, friendly group of highly-skilled people there, too.
