Over the past few days of searching I've found a lot of people asking a
similar thing but without any answers. I've tried the latest PHP
snapshot too.
Can anyone here give any insight to these errors??

you are calling ssl://server.com:port and not https://server.com ya?
you've got openssl installed ya?
