Lots of reasons:
* some proxy servers (e.g. at work) strip out some scripts
Those evil netadmins should be blamed for this!!
* some mobile/text browsers don't have that option
Does anybody is really browsing from that kind of a phone ? Truly heretic!!
* some people do _really_ browse with it turned off!
Should be banished to outer space (links and lynx users are excluded).
