Hi,
are you propably using a wysiwyg-editor to edit this html?
my guess is ,your cms doesn't recognize <br /> as a valid tag and
transforms
< and > to < and >
you should check your cms (or in case your wysiwyg-editor) docs for
xhtml compatiblity ;)
