Yeah, I'm wondering about that also. Especially since my webhost, a *very* large company that employs several PHP bigwigs (starts with a Y), has basically said they have no plans to upgrade to a newer version of php... ever.

The version they are on is 4.3.11... :P

I'm finding the same attitude at a lot of hosting companies I do business with for clients also.
