This isbecause you're using the wrong tool for the job. Don't blame the
tool, blame the user of the tool. if you want to loop from 'a' to 'z'
then use chr() and ord().

for( $i = ord( 'a' ); $i <= ord( 'z' ); $i++ )
{
echo "Nuff said!\n";
}
?>
