See the validity constraints for an ID in the XML specs:
http://www.w3.org/TR/2004/REC-xml-20040204/#id
Values of IDs must conform to the following syntax to be valid:
(Letter | '_' | ':') (NameChar)*
Yours start with a numeric which is why it doesn't validate.
