I tech-edited the first two editions, before a change in personnel at the Publisher. They were good, solid introduction/journeyman texts with enough meat to last you for awhile. They were geared toward somebody who had a LITTLE programming experience, and some HTML experience, rather than a complete beginner. I haven't read the latest edition, though. The addition of "MySQL" is a change -- possibly making it much larger, or possibly chopping out a fair amount of the content to "make room" for the MySQL stuff...
