Home brew... like free stuff... stuff you don't spend money for is only equal in value to the amount spent...The application seems very professional to me, even if it is free.

The PROBLEM COM library that I had was an expensive package, and was replaced by a shareware one that worked much better anyway.
The POINT I was making was that the problem is one of the crude way that Microsoft 'manage' hardware rather than one of a particularly bad design - except of cause using Windows is inherently bad design ;)
