Expensive. There are a few postcode management sites that provide positional data against the post code, but they all cost quite a bit of money. We are working on a cut down version for key areas, with a rough entry for the first part for all post codes, with a few that people will provide fine detail for their own area later.
A postcode query to www.multimap.com will give you the relevant coordinates ;)
http://www.spanner.org/postcodes/ is something that is already available.
