I'm writing an article where I'm going to explain what PHP is in a short sentence. PHP once meant Personal Home Page, right?
PHP, originally an anacronym for "Personal Home Page", is a textual, "general-purpose scripting language" (www.PHP.net) designed to collect and process data between HTML pages and the Internet.
Any objections? There was an article someplace about Rasmus Lerdorf calling it such, in the beginning. (http://www.php.net/manual/en/history.php)
(recursive acronym for "PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor")
PHP/FI stands for "Personal Home Page / Forms Interpreter" and PHP stands for "PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor"... all of which is explained on the page you linked to... :/
