Philip, have you checked the php freaks website? I do recall seeing a script
in their tutorials library that claimed to create Excel files.

Just had a search and came up with:

header("Content-Type: application/vnd.ms-excel");
                                  ^^^^
echo "<table border=1>
<tr>
<td>Cell 1</td>
<td>Cell 2</td>
</tr>
</table>";
?>
