You might consider adding another line:
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
and then renaming your php enabled html pages to
xyz.php

setup problems solved.... adding the lines:
AddType application/x-httpd-php .htm
AddType application/x-httpd-php .html
fixed it....
I added those lines the section marked
<IfModule mime_module>
