make test segfaults immediately

Hi -

   I'm trying to compile php-5.2.4. I'm on a Sparc Solaris 8 machine, 
compiling with gcc 4.2.1. I had php compiled before, but wanted to add 
xslt support. The working configuration was

configure --with-mysql=/opt/mysql.5.0 --with-apxs=/opt/apache/bin/apxs

   I added "--with-libxml-dir=/usr/local/lib -with-xsl=/usr/local/lib" 
and now 'make test' segfaults almost immediately, as in

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
make test

Build complete.
Don't forget to run 'make test'.

Segmentation Fault
make: [test] Error 139 (ignored)

   Anyone got an idea about how to fix this?
