Andy and all,

This list has been an invaluable resource to me over the years—a place to ask niggling questions and be assured of quality responses, “phone a friend” no further away than my keyboard.

PhotoForum was my earliest introduction to what the internet would become—instant information from a variety of sources with the quality of that information dependent on the participants—and so many here know so much. It’s been a treasure to me.

I cut my internet manner teeth on here by participating in lively, sometimes very (very) heated, discussions. I became educated in the basics of internet etiquette: it’s ok not to respond, it’s sometimes good to walk away, and (my personal hardest)—just let it go. :)

Your work starting this list, Andy, and keeping it going through these many, many years is deeply appreciated.

Friends,

It seems that the usefulness of the PhotoForum list has reached rock bottom.
While the PF gallery garnered some interest and participation, it also seems to have withered away.

For this reason I am thinking it is about time to retire the list and the gallery.
The site on Facebook would remain available for those of you interested.

I am planning to deactivate the account shortly unless there is some reason to keep it.
