Lea,
I'm not sure I follow your description of the problem but there are some things I might suggest that might trigger a path to a solution:
1 -- If you are opening PS from your Dock, and if the icon for PS still points to PS(old), then PS(old) Preferences are running things and may be not what you expect.
2 -- If you are opening PS from within Bridge, then Bridge Preferences direct where things show up -- and depend on the proper Bridge/PS match.
3 -- Anyway, the Bridge and PS icons on the Dock probably should be deleted, and new ones generated from the new versions of Bridge and PS.
Hope this helps, somehow,

Hello all.I’m using a fresh install of Photoshop version 22.5.1 on a Mac Mini M1; this setup is about two months old for me.I’m having the strangest thing happen and I don’t know how to correct it and thought perhaps someone could direct me to the fix. When I open a PS document it appears on my desktop—and I can see my desktop (and ALL the things on it) behind the PS document. The ACTUAL Photoshop window that the PS documents typically rest on is down in my dock. I can enlarge the PS workspace and it appears behind the PS document but in past versions of PS the two were connected…if I minimized PS the document/s minimized as well. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to make that happen again? Thanks so much,Lea
