Sometimes when saving an image in Photoshop, we might save a layered file as a jpg... try changing the file name to  xxxxx.psd.

As you think it's a jpeg, next is a hex editor to see if the header is intact.

Notice comes back this way: It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize.

Is there some way of recovering the image?
