Our (or human) eyes have the same limitations (except that we have dynamic “auto” exposure capability). The piece refers to dynamic range and then color fidelity by a “professor” that seems to know very little about the technology. And mentions one film as being superior. That well may be but should advances film characteristics be ignored as being worthy of mention. And history? What was B&W film built for? Note that before color it was a B&W world. Did the makers of B&W materials deliberately choose to invent such a system?
This piece is inflammatory at best. Disappointing.
