note received by list HQ: Job Opportunity at NEDCC – Photographer, Temporary, Full-Time The Northeast Document Conservation Center (NEDCC) is hiring a temporary full-time photographer to join the Imaging Services department for 1 year, with the possibility of full-time employment thereafter. The Photographer will be principally contributing to a large film negative digitization project, but will also have the opportunity to work with other projects from the extensive, diverse, and unique collections held by NEDCC’s clients. These include virtually all photographic media, particularly nitrate, acetate, and glass-plate negatives, X-ray film, photographic prints, and direct positives like daguerreotypes and ambrotypes; bound and loose manuscript material; rare books and illuminated manuscripts; and oversized items such as maps and blueprints. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline; experience in the handling of rare and fragile paper-based materials; minimum 2 years’ experience digitally reformatting archival and special collection materials or works of art; proficiency in the use of imaging hardware, particularly digital medium format and SLR camera systems, and flatbed or film scanners; meticulous attention to detail.
