Can't you select multiple RAW files with the control button and deleted them all at once? I under the impression that Bridge opens up thumb nails, not the whole file.

I’m sorry.  3 seconds just doesn’t seem like much of an issue to me.  If you really need to open and sort through 450 shots from an evening show fast enough to get them online in 20 mintues, then you need the fastest possible processor and gobs of RAM.  Big files take time to open.
