The cameras from the 80s (mostly Pentaxes; and Minoltas) are giving up the

The shutter doesnt cock after winding, and I end up winding 5-6 frames
before being able to shoot again
that sounds a lot like the little electromagnet that holds the vertical
travel focal shutter blinds in place - over time they get a little dust on
the face or an accumulation of grime on the electromagnet or the metal plate
the electromagnet is supposed to hold and it's *just* enough to stop the
electromagnet grabbing and so the shutter cocking action failing to grab,
allows the blinds to fire during cocking. A lot of techs used to tell
people some story about the electromagnet needing replacing when often all
they did was wipe it all clean with a solvent and hand it back to the
customer :/
pretty common. The mechanical horizontal travel shutters might not have
been as fast as the vertical shutters, but they were (are) a lot more
reliable :)
