You hope your archive survives you! With hacker attacks occurring regularly, it is a matter of time before a cloud storage site is hacked. Besides that, though, there was a report just this week of a cloud storage company going under and giving its customers a deadline to get their stuff off the companies servers, or lose it forever.

Use the cloud, but keep a copy on an external hard drive. 5-terabyte drives are below $200 now (189 Euros).

Mine spans about 60 years - from my very first film camera - a Kodak 66 - to my very latest which is a Pentax Q7. From hand/dish developed 120 Verichrome Pan, to digital developed RAF and DNG raw formats. Since my archive is in the clouds, it will even survive me !
