This group was the very first inter web 'thing' I subscribed to on my brand new desktop computer complete with a one gigabyte hard drive that the sales lady said I'd never fill. Ha!

My daughter was in sixth grade at the time (I bought the computer for her schoolwork); on Thursday she turned thirty-one.

Actually I didn't sign myself up, my brother signed me up because I didn't know how to do it. Even as he was entering info and the phone line hookup was whining/chirping/clicking away I knew I was witnessing the precipice of magic.

THIS computer can talk to THAT computer through PHONE LINES???

Seems like forever ago.

The greatest benefit of this list for me is knowing there is an army of knowledgable, helpful people happy to weigh in on technical questions and all I have to do is post them. You all have helped me through, and out of, more tricky spots than you'll ever know.

Oh sure, some of you have driven me nuts and some of you I consider dear friends...rather like the way a family works, wouldn't you say?

I am so grateful to Andy for his work to keep this group going and I am so thankful to be a part of it.

The gallery is a couple of years younger and it took up Friday night or Saturday morning time getting the “show” together. 18 years of Saturday mornings. The expectation was that it would be a useful adjunct to the list chatter.

However, with your cooperation, collaboration and contributions I hope we can keep this activity going for as long as it serves a useful purpose.
