It was two cleaning ladies scrubbing out a bathtub installation (= old tub filled with grease and plaster) that was in storage at a museum and on loan from a private owner.  They wanted to use the tub to clean dishes at an event of the Social Democrats.  The owner sued the museum and the town and eventually won. Don't think anything happened to the ladies.

At the time I was more into dealing with hormones and rock'n roll but I remember it to be the first time to really question where the "modern art world" was going...

Yeah, something about a cleaning lady removing a light brown stain the artist had carefully placed on a million dollar sculpture. I wonder where she is working these days?
