Ansel was not a very nice guy to talented photographers coming along. I�m glad you�re happy with sugarcoating his memories, as I am not. The worst part about getting older and still having a good memory is that kids like you come along behind and call us liars. He hated competitors and if you could lift a 4x5, you were a competitor.

The best thing AA ever did for me was to tell me I would never become a photographer.
