According to my friend and Senior engineer for photoshop. I am wrong :-( Photoshop doesn't use jpeg LS at any time.

Zalman left Adobe over a year ago, so I don’t see him that much anymore.
EXR is sort of working, but yes, VFX people seem to be very confused and have a huge “not invented here” problem.
JPEG in Photoshop is not lossless, nor using Jpeg LS.
There is no setting that will give you a lossless result in Photoshop.

Hey Chris how is adobe land these days. You have come a long way from a ps plugin in what 1996-97? to where you are now. Amazing. If you see Zalman tell him some one from xRes says hello. How did the EXR situation work out with everything? VFX people are a feisty bunch.
Quick question I remember this from somewhere but want it to be accurate. JPEG in PS. 1-10 uses standard JPG but 12 is loseless. (jpeg ls) is that the case.
