The absence of a source for the horizontal reflection in the foreground makes this image completely confusing to me. There are situations where one can refuse to meet the common expectation set of the viewer and arrive at something abstract which coheres as an abstract in and of itself, but the standard horizontal format and the unreflected buildings in the distance conflict with the pure abstraction effect for me.
So my reaction is "huh?"

There's not enough hill, or if you free the image from its caption, the horizon undermines any implication of tension or going.

Being advertising averse, and almost 95% advertising free in my personal life, I am unimpressed by this sort of technical work. But I'm glad it's paying some of the bills for Jan.I once had an editor who spat in my face one day "I hate backs". Faces are strong, backs are weak. There is, in addition, too much data below the ass across the entire image, altho I do admire the complete boredom on the faces of the men in the lower R corner.
John Palcewski - Round Two
Allan Rosen-Ducat -
Images don't have to be of something identifiable, but in this case I'd need a clue to be drawn to exercise some imagination about "what" in this image.

Classic, and agreeable. But for me such scenes have been done a skillion times and they often no longer evoke the "Ahhhh"s of my youth.Spend the money on a good camera, Chris. A scope's not much use unless you've got paying work testing equipment.
