Amazon collect state sales taxes where ever they have a physical present in
that state whether it is a
Fulfillment Center, a Customer Service Center, or a subsidiaries. There are
a few exceptions so my guess is some states don't have sale tax or haven't asked
Amazon to collect it. NC asked Amazon to collect sale tax but Amazon has refused
as it has no physical present in NC.
NC asked B&H to collect NC sale tax and it now does. Adorama doesn't
collect NC sales tax
