My stories all have to do with photography. If my first wife and hadn’t split up, I never would have gotten to Denmark to learn how to shoot large format (4x5 & 8x10) portraits on location of everything from trucks and busses ships and people and, and so probably would have been mired down in tDC shooting thousands of grip and grins for the really creative groups who do the “marketing” for agencies of the Federal government like CPSC, HEW, NPS, DOL, DOT, NTSC, etc ad nauseum. I know some will find these interesting as examples of 1970’s government assignments. If any of you know who the guy in glasses holding the baby is, pleaser let me know. He lived in Buffalo in 1970 and taught photography and John Pfahl says it isn’t him.

I am glad to I got to travel to a foreign country speaking a language I was not familiar with to work with a different kind of client who offered great opportunities to shoot A: color, B: full studio, C: no lawyers, and D: no politicians, and last but not least the locals were much friendlier than in DC where there was not a snowball’s chance in hell of learning the language of lawyers and politicos.

If fact, I had such an interesting time, I recommend doing something similar very highly. Just because y’all all shoot the same format (DSLR) doesn’t mean y’all all have the same ideas or vision.

Have a Happy New Year

All very interesting about marriages, divorces, languages, etc. but it is stretching the limits of conviviality on the list. Please consider the contents of your postings. This list is not exclusively about photography recognizing we all have personal lives and we are hopefully all friends but diversity also calls for consideration, compassion and tolerance someone said.

Have a happy New Year, with peace and laughter and friendship in your, and our, neighborhood.
