. You use a linear array instead of an area array. These camera already exist and have existed for longer then area array cameras.

One guy, who works in a secure facility has a large portrait of a girl in blue on his wall and he says he sometimes comes back from lunch to find others sitting at his small conference table staring at her. When he rotates her out and replaces her with an abstract, nobody ever bothers his office.
