The anaglyphs worked better, but still the foreground images appeared to be cut-outs imposed on a still background, someplace in the distance. Not a good perspective view in either case. My home made 3D images have worked better.

Amazing. The wiggling between the two images produces the three dimensional effect. To test myself, to make sure I was actually sensing the 3D effect, I found that the effect was definitely gone when I looked at a screen snap.
