If you hold your head horizontally the image is flipped top to bottom! Hi!

The simple principle or mirrors is that the angle of incidence equals the
angle of reflection. I think that, since our eyes (and visual/spatial
perception) are aligned in a horizontal plane, its only natural that images
flip horizontally.

Either that, or gravitons.

And you could ask your son back why Bill Wyman left the Rolling Stones.
