RE: the Next Big Thing

I do not have a photograph of my grandfather now. I do have one of my maternal grandmother. I have no images of my children and the boy that my latest wife gave me was dead by the time I got to him. My wife did not allow me to take a photograph of his headless body. The head dropped off post-mortem. I understand that he died at one month after being given one tablet of ritilin prescribed for hyperactivity. I have no photos of my first wife because these were taken from me.

I worry about our photographic legacy from here onwards: never mind the 'Cloud' - in many years to come your grandchildren or great grandchildren won't be able to access your life's work from the hard drive in that dusty old suitcase they found in the attic...

I still think digital photography sucks from the standpoint of all the things I love about analog (like still being able to make prints or scans from film older than me) compared with all the hardware and software needed to store and access the digital files. One day soon we won't even be allowed to store our own digital photos because everything will be stored on the "cloud" which someone else ultimately controls access to!

I especially like the picture of the girl so effortlessly carrying the camera with her note pad and matching dress. Be the first on your block to have all three colors!
