Hey, there are times when not raising yer camera might avoid either embarrassment or even physical violence and bloodshed.ÂÂ Life and well being are more important than a photograph or two.

I speak as a long-time street photographer who so far has been VERY lucky!Â

I occasionally witness violent assaults in the street, the last one was on a Railway platform, but they are over so quickly that I have not been able to take a photograph although I try to carry a camera all the time.

The assaulter said he was acting for Jesus as he appeared to knife the young lady, but I am not sure what happened. These incidents are not reported.

If I see one again, I will try to get an image, but it will probably be the immediate aftermath.
